Interview with Elba Tigers Head Coach Marc Sieving

This week on "The Wiregrass High School Football Report", Phillip Jordan is joined by Elba Tigers head coach Marc Sieving. The Tigers are coming off a 13-1 season that saw an undefeated regular season that ended in the state semifinals. Coach Sieving talks about what has Elba had going in the off-season and reflects back on the 2023 season. He then talks about how running back Alvin Henderson (Auburn 2025 commit) has handled the attention and how he has improved going into the season. Also a conversation on Cayden Atkins moving to quarterback, and his success as a linebacker. Other positions discussed is the wingback, offensive line, and secondary. 

Interview with Rehobeth Head Coach Toby Greene

This week on "The Wiregrass High School Football Report", Phillip Jordan is joined by Rehobeth High School head coach Toby Greene. Rehobeth is going into their first year in 6A after being in 5A for several seasons. They are coming off a 6-4 season. Despite not making the playoffs in 2023, Rehobeth closed the season going 5-1 and winning their final two games. Coach Greene talks about how the team played late last season, off-season focus, new players on offense, the experience on defense, and the preparation for the season opener versus Ashford on August 23rd. 

Interview with Dale County Head Coach Evan Ballard

This week on "The Wiregrass High School Football Report", Phillip Jordan is joined by Dale County Evan Ballard who is going into his second season with the Warriors. Coach Ballard talks about the focus of the off-season and how the team has improved since the end of the 2023 season. He talks about the talented backfield with Dallas Hedstrom, Junior Smith, and Tristan Smith. Also, where the defense is at going into the season and some new assistants on staff. 

Interview with Ashford Head Coach David Stapleton

This week on "The Wiregrass High School Football Report", the countdown to the 2024 season with Phillip Jordan interviewing Ashford Yellow Jackets head coach David Stapleton. Coach Stapleton talks about what the team has been doing during the spring and summer. Some highlights were the spring game against Early County, 7-on-7 tournament in Troy, and former Alabama defensive back Keven Jackson speaking to the team. Then, coach looks ahead to the 2024 season looking at the early part of the schedule, the offense, and defense. 

Interview with Carroll Eagles Head Coach Matt Mellown

In the season premier of "The Wiregrass High School Football Report", Phillip Jordan sits down with new Carroll High Eagles head coach Matt Mellown. After the 2023 season former head coach Patrick Plott moved on to become an assistant for the Auburn High Tigers. The Eagles made a great hire by brining in Mellown. He comes from Andalusia where he was the offensive coordinator. In the interview, Coach Mellown discusses how the first few months have been, strength and conditioning coach Logan Richards, past coaching experiences, the 2024 Carroll Eagles, and much more. 

Interview with New Geneva County Head Coach Al Gilmore

On this off-season special edition of "The Wiregrass High School Football Report", Phillip Jordan is joined by new Geneva County head coach Al Gilmore. Coach Gilmore comes from Elba where he has been offensive coordinator and will look to rebuild a Bulldogs program that went 0-10 in 2023. In this conversation Gilmore discussed why he accepted the job, first objective in the rebuild, offensive/defensive strategies, and more.

Then, Cottonwood Bears head coach Dustin Harrison joins the show to talk about the improvement the Bears have made each year he has been with the team. The 2023 high school football season is here! This week on "The Wiregrass High School Football Report", Phillip Jordan is joined by Carroll High Eagles head coach Patrick Plott. Coach Plott talks about the excitement of the new season, off-season work, and breaks down the offense and defense for the Eagles. Plus, Coach Plott talks about the keys for Thursdays season opener against Dothan. That game can be heard on 96.9 The Legend with pregame at 6:45 p.m. and kickoff is at 7 p.m.
