You will hear from Jerry Coleman and Ken Lambert from the Dothan Wolves postgame show on 96.9 The Legend. They will break down the Wolves 49-27 win over Monroe. Then, Cottonwood Bears head coach Dustin Harrison joins the show to talk about the Bears 54-6 win over Ashford. It was the first time the former rivals had played on the football field since 2005. Finally, Phillip looks ahead to all the games this weekend in the Wiregrass.

This week on "The Wiregrass High School Football Report", Phillip Jordan opens the show by going over all the results from the first week of the 2024 high school football season. This includes the comments from Jerry Coleman and Ken Lambert on the Dothan Wolves postgame show on Friday night. Then, Rehobeth head coach Toby Greene returns to the podcast to give his thoughts on the Rebels 36-29 double overtime win over Ashford. He also previews this Friday's game with Carroll. 

Northside Methodist Academy Knights Head Coach Stefan Gainey

This week Phillip Jordan is joined by Northside Methodist head coach Stefan Gainey. Coach Gainey discusses the excitement level for the first game week of the season. He also breaks down the off-season focus of the team, and what he learned in year one of being a head coach. Then, Phillip asks Coach Gainey about new quarterback John Michael Mordecai and the playmakers on offense. The Knights return Jordan Sanford on defense and coach talks about what to expect on that side of the ball. Finally, Coach Gainey previews the season opener against Pataula Charter out of Georgia. 

Interview with Chipola Men's Basketball Head Coach Donnie Tyndall

Chipola Junior College head men's basketball Donnie Tyndall joined Phillip Jordan to talk about his program and the success over his four years at the school. Coach Tyndall discusses why the Indians have sustained success over the four years and what makes the team good each season. He also talks about his time in the G-League, plus a look at the differences between the professional and college game. Chipola will be looking to replace top contributors in guard Joshua "Greedy" Williams, and forwards Jerald Colonel and Dontae Walker. Coach Tyndall gives listeners some names who could fill those positions for the 2024-25 season.

2024 Troy Trojans Football Preview: Barry McKnight and Matt Stewart

Today Phillip Jordan is previewing the 2024 Troy Trojans football team. The Trojans have a new head coach in Gerad Parker and there are many questions around the team. The offense still has talent, but the defense has a lot of spots to fill. Then, Phillip re-plays interviews with Barry McKnight (voice of the Trojans) and Matt Stewart (ESPN+) to preview Troy and the Sun Belt. 

Interview with Cottonwood Head Football Coach Dustin Harrison

Cottonwood High School head coach Dustin Harrison joins host Phillip Jordan to preview the 2024 Bears. Coach Harrison first talks about how the off-season has gone for CHS and looks back at the 2023 season. Last year, the Bears went 10-2 and 7-0 in 2A-Region 2. That was the first region championship for Cottonwood since 2010. He goes on to talk about this year's team by looking at the offense and defense. The team returns their entire backfield from last season, but will have some new faces on defense. The Bears have the talent to repeat as region champions.
